Logitech Alto Express: a simple laptop desk stand

We’ve talked a lot here at LaptopStandSet.com about why is important to use a laptop stand but for many people there’s the problem with having to pay extra for an accessory that seems worthless after you’ve spend a few years using a laptop without any problems. Well, not all laptop stands are expensive and if you like simplicity then you’ll love the Logitech Alto Express, a laptop desk stand with no peripherals included and no moving parts.

The Alto Express is made from a curved transparent plastic material with black rubber parts on the edges that sit on the desk to ensure stability during everyday use. The part beneath the laptop is convex shaped so that it allows for air to flow and cool down the bottom of your laptop. Logitech says there’s no limit on the size of the laptop that can be used as the Alto Express has no raised margins to limit compatibility and that’s always a good thing. From ergonomics point of view, there’s a small opening on the back of the stand that allows for all cables to be routed there, so less clutter on your desktop.

One problem we’ve found with the Logitech Alto Express is that the front ports of your laptop are impossible to access so make sure there’s nothing important there if you plan on purchasing the Alto Express. Also no moving parts means no way to adjust height so you might want to give the Alto Express a try with your own laptop to see if it will fit your needs.
