Griffin Elevator Desktop Stand for Mac and PC laptops review

Griffin is a well know accessories manufacturer, especially for its Mac Laptops by Apple lineup, from which the Elevator Desktop Stand is part of. Simply put, the Elevator Desktop Stand is a laptop stand for desktop use, a simple  solid frame made from two U shaped aluminum bars held together by a transparent  piece. Simplicity is the key here, as there’s nothing to break, nothing to adjust, just put your laptop up there, on the rubber pads that prevent it from sliding and you’re set.

The screen is raised a good 5.5 inches off the desk surface and is also cooler better thanks to the fact there’s nothing to restrict the airflow there. Another advantage is that you can put anything you like under your laptop now, like books, an external harddrive, external laptop battery, a central speaker from a surround audio setup, pretty much anything that not taller than let’s say 5 inches.

Even if the Desktop Elevator stand is designed for use with a MacBook there’s nothing stopping you from using it with any brand of laptop so it’s a future proof acquisition, plus at only 30 $ on Amazon (10 less than what Griffin is charging on their website) it’s a bargain too. There’s to be noted that you’ll need an external keyboard and mouse to use your laptop while mounted on the Griffin Elevator Desktop Stand so plan ahead this too. All in all it’s a great stand to buy, especially if you’re concerned about aesthetics.
