Types of laptop stands

Now that we’ve defined what a laptop stand is it’s time to see that are the main types of laptop stands you can purchase today in stores. This is not a classification based on types of products but on the main purpose a model of laptop stand has as we believe that’s the best approach:

• Laptop desk stands: these are laptop stands that help you use the laptop on a desk better than you would normally do by laying it flat on the table. A laptop desk stand helps increase the height of the laptop screen keeping it level to your eyes and allow for better air circulation thus better cooling which means lower operating noise.
• Portable laptop stands: there are usually smaller and thinner laptop stands and can/must be carried together with the laptop. Portable stands help keep the heat of the laptop away from your lap acting like an intermediary surface and are often used while laying on a sofa or on the bed
• Rolling laptop stands: those are more complex because they’re more like a small desk with wheels than portable stands. Those stands are meant to be carried around the house while changing the place you want to use the laptop, from chair to bed, from sofa cu kitchen etc
• Cooling laptop stands: the main purpose of those stands is to cool hot laptops by sucking fresh air from the room and blowing it on the bottom of your notebook. They also act as a portable/desk stand so they’re more like a combination
• Peripheral laptop stands: those are regular portablet/desktop stands that are fitted also with peripherals like USB port hubs (USB data recovery tips can be found here), audio speakers for better sound and even webcams for video conferencing/messaging. It all depends on the creativity of the manufacturer.

Those are the main types of laptop stands but there are a few that fall right in between these categories because they’re more like a cross breed between functions. All you have to do before deciding which one is right for you is make up your mind about what you need from a laptop stand and where will you be using it.
